Police looking for Chatham robbery suspect

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips as they track down a suspect accused of walking into a local variety store and showing a weapon.

Police said they were called to Harvey's Variety on Harvey Street in Chatham just before 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, and learned that a man had entered the store and showed a weapon.

The store owner confronted the man, who then took off running westbound on Harvey Street before he turned south on Raleigh Street.

Police said the suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5'6" tall and he was last seen wearing a black jacket with a fur-rimmed hood, a black toque, a dark facemask, black skinny jeans, and black high-top shoes with white laces.

Officers said the owner was not physically hurt during this incident.
