Wallaceburg man arrested for breaching probation, assault, uttering threats

A Wallaceburg man faces several charges after a disturbance at the Days Inn in Wallaceburg.

Police responded shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Monday after a woman was feeling unsafe inside her room and had alleged she was assaulted by her partner.

Officers learned that the man was in breach of his probation.

The Wallaceburg man was arrested and additionally charged with assault and uttering threats.

He was held pending a bail hearing.

Wallaceburg man arrested coming back into Canada

A Wallaceburg man is in even more trouble with the law after trying to re-enter Canada with several outstanding warrants.

Walpole Island CBSA intercepted the man, who was wanted by Chatham-Kent police on several warrants.

The male was arrested and taken to police headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing.

Police investigate break and enter in Wallaceburg 

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips after $8,000 worth of fishing supplies were stolen from a residence on Book Street.

Police said they were called to the residence Monday in response to a complaint about a break-and-enter.

Officers learned that sometime last week, unknown suspects forced their way into a shed on the property and stole the supplies.

Pair sought in connection to attempted vehicle theft 

Chatham-Kent police are investigating after a pair of suspects were found occupying a stolen vehicle before fleeing the area on foot.

Police said they were called to Cascades Casino in Chatham for a parking complaint.

When officers arrived, one male immediately fled the area on food.

Police were not able to locate the man but later found out he was known to police and is currently wanted on outstanding charges.

Officers returned to the vehicle to speak to the female occupant but she fled the area as well.

The vehicle that was being occupied by the male and female was reported stolen.

Police have sought an additional warrant for both the male and female for the theft of a motor vehicle.
