Radiothon highlights local healthcare workers in support of CKHA Foundation

Stories from Chatham-Kent Health Alliance frontline workers will be taking over the local airwaves this weekend.

On Saturday, the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation will present its first CKHA’s Frontline Faces Radiothon in partnership with Blackburn Media.

From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. residents can tune in to 92.9 FM or 630 AM CFCO to hear a wide range of interviews that will shine a light on the care delivered at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on a daily basis.

"This is the first event of its kind in Chatham-Kent, and we know that our community will step up to honour its frontline healthcare workers on Saturday," said CKHAF President and CEO Mary Lou Crowley. "Radiothon will feature dozens of inspiring stories from CKHA physicians, staff, volunteers, and grateful patients that will give you a greater appreciation for the strength and dedication of our hospital’s frontline staff."

All proceeds from the radiothon will support healthcare initiatives, including equipment renewal, program innovation, and modern facilities at CKHA.

"The Foundation invests in equipment, innovation, and modern facilities at CKHA, as government funding does not cover the costs in these areas," stated CKHAF Board Chair Bob Hockney. "Community support is crucial in ensuring that our hospital’s frontline staff have access to the best equipment and resources possible. The radiothon will provide Chatham-Kent residents with an opportunity to make donations in honour of the frontline healthcare workers in their lives, which will have a real impact on their ability to continue to provide world-class care for patients from across our community."

Residents can donate all week long by calling the TekSavvy Radiothon Phone Line at 519-436-2587 or by visiting the Radiothon website.

Community members are also encouraged to make in-person donations by stopping by the CIBC Radiothon Headquarters, located in the Frank and Mary Uniac Auditorium at CKHA’s Chatham site from 9 a..m to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
