Woman accused of slashing tires

A 45-year-old Wallaceburg woman is facing charges after she allegedly threatened her ex-partner during an argument on Monday and then slashed the tires on his vehicle.

Chatham-Kent police said they arrested the woman after they were called to a disturbance on Old Glass Road in Wallaceburg just before 1 p.m. Monday.

Officers said their investigation showed that the woman and her ex-partner were arguing when it escalated to the point where she threatened to hurt the man and pulled out a knife.

Police said the man left the area and the woman then allegedly slashed the tires on his vehicle with the knife.

The woman was arrested and charged with uttering threats, assault with a weapon, and mischief.

She was taken to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Man arrested for skipping court date

A 26-year-old Chatham man has been booked in for a new court date after he allegedly skipped his last one.

Police said they found the man behind the wheel of a vehicle they had pulled over during a traffic stop on Grand Avenue West in Chatham just after 9 p.m. Monday.

After police spoke to the driver and learned that he was wanted, they arrested him. He was later released with a new court date.

Two more arrests on warrants

A noise complaint in Wallaceburg late Monday night led police to a pair of people who were wanted by the law.

Police said they found the pair outside of a residence while they were responding to the complaint on Forhan Street in Wallaceburg just after 11 p.m. Monday.

A 32-year-old Ontario man was arrested and taken back to police headquarters where he was set to be held pending a bail hearing.

A 36-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested on an Ontario Provincial Police warrant and later released on the OPP's behalf with conditions and a future court date.
