Chatham man arrested for breach of release, trafficking controlled substance 

A 22-year-old Chatham man is facing charges after police found him breaching his release order in the area of Wellington Street early Sunday morning.

Police said the man attempted to flee the area but was arrested and taken to police headquarters.

While being searched at the station, police said they found evidence that the man was trafficking a controlled substance.

The 22-year-old was charged and held for bail.

Man arrested on outstanding warrant 

A 29-year-old man, known to be wanted by Chatham-Kent police, was arrested Saturday in the area of Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.

Police said the man was wanted for three separate warrants including a first instance, probation, and a DNA warrant.

The man was arrested and later released with a future court date.

Man arrested for trespassing, public intoxication

A 20-year-old man spent some time sobering up in police custody after allegedly trespassing into the gas explosion site in Wheatley while drunk.

Police said officers observed the man jumping a fence in order to gain access to the site.

The 20-year-old was arrested for trespassing and taken to police headquarters where he was held until sober.

Utility trailer stolen from home in Chatham 

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips after a white, 14-foot dual axel utility trailer was stolen from an address on Cabot Trail in Chatham around 11:40 a.m. Sunday.

The trailer, containing several power tools, has a large "Weiser Performance" sticker on the front along with the Ontario licence plate P72 62K.
