CK Public Library to host ID Clinic

Anyone who needs help getting identification will have the chance to do so at an upcoming ID Clinic in Chatham-Kent.

An ID Clinic will be held at the Wallaceburg branch of the Chatham-Kent Public Library in September and is being offered in partnership with Chatham-Kent Employment and Social Services and Service Canada.

"At this clinic, individuals will be supported by community navigators with filling out online or paper birth certificate applications for all Canadian provinces," the municipality explained in a press release. "If an individual requires photo ID, this clinic will help them understand the purpose of the Ontario Photo ID card and will learn the steps required to register for one. Information on how to apply for an Ontario Health Card and support with the application will also be available."

Service Canada will also be assisting anyone who requires a Social Insurance Number or Personal Access Code and will answer any questions applicable to their services.

There is no fee to attend the clinics and no registration is needed, however, people will be served on a first-come, first-serve basis. Financial screening will be available for those who need assistance with payment for identification.

The ID Clinic will be held at 2019 James Street on Tuesday, September 13, from 1 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
