Man accused of assaulting former partner

A 30-year-old Chatham-Kent man is facing two counts of assault after he allegedly twisted his ex-partner's arm and spit on them.

Chatham-Kent police said they made the arrest after they were called to investigate a disturbance on Amelia Street in Chatham just after noon on Wednesday.

The accused was arrested, charged, and taken back to police headquarters. He was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Man arrested for yelling obscenities despite communication ban

A 27-year-old Blenheim man is in more trouble with the law after he allegedly yelled some obscenities at two people he had been banned from communicating with.

Police said they got that call at around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, adding that their investigation showed "the man rode by the individuals" while yelling at them.

He was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking. He was taken back to police headquarters and released with a future court date.

CK man booked for impaired driving after crash

A 48-year-old Chatham-Kent man is facing an impaired driving charge after police were called to a two-vehicle crash in Wallaceburg early Thursday morning.

Police said they were called to the scene on Dufferin Avenue at around 2 a.m. Thursday, adding that no injuries were reported.

Officers believed one of the drivers was driving while impaired, so he was taken back to police headquarters for breath tests.

The accused was later charged with having a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit before he was released pending a future court date.
