Man arrested for domestic offences

A 38-year-old Wallaceburg man is facing assault and forcible confinement charges following a domestic incident over the weekend.

On Monday afternoon, officers attended a home in Wallaceburg for reports of a domestic dispute.

Through investigation, police learned that the following day, the man and woman got into a verbal argument, which escalated when the man allegedly tried to stop the woman from leaving by tackling her. As a result, the woman sustained a cut near her eye.

On Tuesday, the man was located and arrested. He was charged with assault and forcible confinement. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Police looking for the public’s assistance with theft investigations

Chatham-Kent police are hoping for some leads from the public after a pair of thefts over the past 24 hours.

Sometime overnight Monday, a green, Outboard 14’ aluminum boat and a black 2-wheel trailer were stolen from an address on St. Clair Street.

The boat contained a black 2010 14hp Mercury motor. It was last seen bearing the hull number ON2153190, and the trailer had the plate number J1071C.

Also, overnight Monday, a white, 15’, 2019 Legend dual axle enclosed trailer was stolen from a Howard Road address.

The trailer was last seen with a “Cutting Edge Insulation” decal on the side and license plate number S9567X.

Police Looking for Stolen Off-Road Utility Vehicle

Chatham-Kent police are looking for a red 2020 Polaris Ranger 1000 XP that was stolen from an address on Industrial Park Road in Tilbury sometime between July 22 and July 28, 2022.
