Woman arrested after brick thrown through window

A Chatham-Kent woman is facing a mischief charge after police responded to a disturbance call in Chatham.

Around 7:30 a.m. Sunday, officers were called to Princess Street North.

Through investigation, police learned the woman allegedly attended an address and threw a brick through the home's kitchen window. The woman was also bound by conditions not to attend the address.

The woman fled the area before police arrived but was located a few hours later.

The 22-year-old was arrested and charged with mischief and failing to comply with an undertaking. She was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Pair changed with domestic offences 

Two people are facing charges after a domestic incident in Chatham over the weekend.

Around 12:50 p.m. Saturday, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence.

Officers learned that a woman who had been released from court with conditions to not attend the residence, had allegedly attended the residence twice that day.

The 48-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply with her release order. She was released with a future court date.

Later on in the evening around 6 p.m., the 45-year old Chatham man involved in the incident, attended the woman’s address after her release and allegedly assaulted her.

The man was arrested and charged with assault. He was transported to the Chatham Police station and lodged pending a bail hearing.

Pair of bail violations 

Two people will have to answer to charges after a pair of separate bail violations over the past 24 hours in Chatham-Kent.

Around 7:39 a.m. Monday, police responded to Blythwood Crescent for a report of an individual allegedly not following their bail conditions.

Through investigation, police learned the woman was bound by two release orders not to attend the address. The woman left the area before the police arrived.

An hours later, the 48-year-old Chatham woman was located and arrested. She was charged with failing to comply with the release order and failing to comply with an undertaking.

She was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Meanwhile on Sunday evening, Chatham-Kent police began investigation an alleged bail violation.

On August 30, 2022, a 26-year-old Raleigh Township was released by the courts with conditions, including not being anywhere a list of people were known to be.

Around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, information was received the man attended the residence of a person listed in his conditions.

The man turned himself in to the police. He was charged with failing to comply with the release order and held pending a bail hearing.

Police look for public's assistance

The Chatham-Kent Police Service is appealing to the public for help in identifying this man in a theft investigation that occurred on July 23 at Shopper’s Drug Mart on Grand Avenue in Chatham.

The man was seen driving a gold, Dodge Caravan. The plates on the vehicle were reported stolen from Windsor.
