Police appealing for public's help after Chatham man seriously injured

Chatham-Kent police are asking the public for help after a 44-year-old man was seriously injured during a disturbance on King Street West in Chatham.

Police said the incident occurred around 2 a.m. Sunday morning.

The man sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital for medical attention

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact Cst. Nathan Pratt at nathanp@chatham-kent.ca

Dresden man arrested after calling 911, hanging up 

A 24-year-old Dresden man is in more trouble with the law after calling 911 and hanging up.

Chatham-Kent police said their investigation started after responding to a residence in Dresden Saturday evening.

Police said they learned that the man was wanted for several outstanding warrants. He was arrested after a short foot chase.

The 24-year old man was charged for a domestic related breach of probation charge and drug possession.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Wallaceburg woman charged with public intoxication 

A 40-year-old Wallaceburg women spent some time sobering up in police custody after being arrested outside of a residence on Margaret Avenue in Wallaceburg.

Police said they were called to the residence around 1:45 a.m. Sunday morning.

The woman, who was unable to care for herself, was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.

She will be released when sober.
