Winning ticket drawn for CKHA Foundation 50/50

One lucky person is $126,000 richer.

The winning ticket for the 2022 Igniting Healthcare 50/50 Fundraiser was drawn at 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon outside of Maple City Homes' new location.

The lucky holder of ticket number 7036243 has just won the fundraiser's $126,840 jackpot.

"We're really blessed that we were able to get out into the community and sell tickets face-to-face and in person," said CKHA Foundation President and CEO Mary Lou Crowley.

This year, the campaign raised a total of $253,680, marking the fourth consecutive year with a winning jackpot of over $100,000.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will support the purchase of two new pulmonary function test units for the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, one for each of the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites.

"It's a win-win," said Crowley. "The hospital benefits because we get to purchase those pulmonary function units for both Chatham and Wallaceburg and we get someone to win $126,840. It's incredible."
