A handful of local artists will be leading a special forum at the Chatham Cultural Centre Tuesday night to talk about the future of public art in Chatham-Kent.
Municipal officials say it is a step toward laying the groundwork for a new Public Art Program in the area as the municipality gears up toward implementing its first-ever Public Art Policy.
The event will run from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, starting with a group art activity followed by a discussion about public art and how it can work in CK and a question and answer period.
The group art project is also set to include some outdoor activity, so anyone who is planning to attend should wear outdoor shoes and dress for the weather.
The push for public art in the municipality includes displays like the "CK" letters that were created for the 2018 International Plowing Match that was held in Chatham-Kent. Those letters are now set to go up at the corner of Keil Drive and Grand Avenue.
