Things will get loud under the water tower in Pain Court on Friday night.
That's because the Pain Court Truck and Tractor Pull is back after a few years off because of the pandemic.
"2019 was our last one, and it was the biggest one that we had ever had," said Dover Kinsmen President Jaymie Waddick. "So we're hoping to get somewhere in the 2,000 to 3,000 people out. It's a great family event, you know both parents and kids, so we're hoping that we get a great crowd."
The gates open at 5 p.m. and the event gets underway at 6:30 p.m. now instead of 7 p.m. as a few more classes have been added. Pullers will be competing from the Southwestern Ontario Tractor Pullers Association, and the Good Times Truck Pullers Association.
Jaymie adds that there will be food and refreshments for sale on-site during the event.
"On the west side of the tractor pull site we'll have the beer garden, and on that side, we have the Dover Rod and Gun Club as the food vender. Then on the east side, we have the under-15 Chatham Diamonds running a food tent."
All the money raised stays in the community.
"We're really looking forward to getting everybody out so we can donate to all the great organizations, like the Hospice, and the Children's Treatment Centre, and Children's Safety Village, and Cystic Fibrosis," said Waddick. "Some of the things that we have done in the past along with local parks and schools throughout Pain Court, Grande Point, and Mitchell's Bay."
Tickets are $20 for adults and kids under 12 are free, cash only at the gate.
