Four arrests on warrants

Chatham-Kent police call it Wanted Wednesday for a reason.

The local police force caught up with four people on Wednesday who were all wanted on warrants.

The first person was a 52-year-old Chatham man -- wanted on an DNA warrant.

Police said they arrested him at around 1 p.m. Wednesday on Lacroix Street in Chatham and took him back to police headquarters.

He was later released without conditions.

In the second case, police caught up with a 25-year-old Chatham-Kent man at around 7:10 p.m. Wednesday who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for an undisclosed offence.

He was arrested on Fifth Street in Chatham and taken back to police headquarters, then later released with conditions and a future court date.

In the third case, a 32-year-old Wallaceburg man who was wanted on multiple warrants was arrested just after 10 p.m. Wednesday when police found him on Henry Street in Wallaceburg.

Police said he was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

In the fourth case, a 31-year-old Blenheim man who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for robbery was arrested while police were investigating a disturbance call on Dover Street in Chatham at around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the man was arrested and taken back to police headquarters. He was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

Woman arrested for public intoxication

A 22-year-old Chatham-Kent woman spent some time in police custody early Thursday morning after police picked her up when they were responding to a call about a disturbance on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police said when they found the woman at around 5 a.m. Thursday, she was intoxicated and unable to care for herself.

Officers said the woman was taken to police headquarters and held there until she sobered up.
