Volunteers wanted for Wallaceburg hospital planning committee

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is establishing a new committee as it gets ready to plan the next steps of its Wallaceburg site redevelopment.

The organization will be looking for a pair of volunteers to sit on its Building Community Advisory Committee to inform the next stage of planning and design for the Wallaceburg hospital.

A comprehensive redevelopment plan was previously announced for the site. The plans include a new emergency department and a diagnostic imaging department as well as renovated ambulatory care services.

"The advisory group is a two-way communication forum that will include individuals from the community, the hospital and other interested stakeholders," hospital officials said in a media release. "To support this committee, CKHA is currently looking for two community representatives from the Wallaceburg area. Interested applicants must reflect their interest in the hospital and healthcare and an ability to connect with the community about local and rural healthcare issues."

Community members must apply by submitting a resume by June 3, 2022 and if selected, participate in an interview process. Successful candidates will also have to comply with CKHA’s standard volunteer protocols. Interested applicants can submit their resumes to Aaron Ryan, Vice President, Performance and CFO at AMRyan@ckha.on.ca.
