Man Charged after Machete Assault

Chatham-Kent police have charged a Chatham man following a disturbance involving a machete in Chatham.

The 43-year-old man is facing charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and failing to comply with his probation orders.

Police said they got a call about a man allegedly attempting to strike the caller with a machete shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Sunday on Oxley Drive in Chatham.

Man and Woman Arrested for Assault

A dispute between neighbours has landed a man and a woman from Wallaceburg in trouble with the law.

Police said a man and a woman engaged in a verbal argument with their neighbours and the argument allegedly escalated into a physical altercation just before 8 p.m. on Sunday on Queen Street in Wallaceburg.

A 29-year-old Wallaceburg woman and a 24-year-old Wallaceburg man were both arrested and charged with one count of assault.

Man and Woman Arrested for Domestic Assault

Assault charges have been laid against a man and a woman in Chatham Township after a domestic disturbance on Eberts Line.

Police allege a physical altercation occurred between the man and the woman.

A 33-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man were both arrested and charged with one count of assault.

Man Arrested for Possession of Stolen Property

A 58-year-old man has been arrested and charged for allegedly being in possession of stolen e-bikes and breaking court conditions to not associate with specific people.

Police said they got a complaint on Sunday and found the stolen e-bikes. Investigators also said the suspect allegedly broke his probation conditions by associating with one of the people listed in his release conditions.

The suspect was charged with possession of stolen property and failing to comply with his probation orders.

Searching for Stolen Vehicle

Police in Chatham-Kent are on the lookout for a stolen black pickup truck that was stolen from Northwood Line in Harwich Township.

Investigators said the 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 crew cab with “Triple P Farms” on the side of the box was allegedly taken on Saturday.

The truck also has a large white fuel tank in the bed of the truck and bears Ontario plate 4835FC.
