Three men arrested after police find stolen dirt bike in pickup truck

Three Chatham-Kent residents are all facing charges after police allegedly found a stolen dirt bike in the back of a pickup truck.

Chatham-Kent police said their investigation started shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday when two dirt bikes -- a red and white 2012 Honda 250 cc bike and a blue and white 2018 Yamaha 250 cc bike -- were reported stolen from an address on Seventh Line in Raleigh Township along with some other items.

Officers said they got a tip later that evening, just before 11 p.m. Thursday, about where one of the dirt bikes was.

Police followed up on that tip and found the bike in the back of a pickup truck, so they pulled the vehicle over and confirmed the bike was one of the two that were reported stolen.

The three men inside the truck -- a 31-year-old Blenheim man, a 39-year-old Chatham man, and a 40-year-old Chatham man -- were all arrested and charged with possession of stolen property.

They were all taken to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.
