Man accused of criminal harassment

A 22-year-old man is facing a handful of charges after he allegedly violated a restraining order by visiting a woman multiple times at her workplace.

Chatham-Kent police said the man was on probation and one of the orders he was given in November last year was that he needed to stay at least 100 metres away from a specific woman.

Police said despite that order, he allegedly showed up at the woman's workplace on May 3 and had also shown up there three times before that.

When police caught up with him, they arrested him and charged him with one count of criminal harassment and four counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

He was taken back to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.
