Man charged following stabbing incident Saturday morning 

A 23-year-old Chatham man is facing charges after a stabbing incident that sent one man to the hospital.

Police said they responded to a disturbance between two men Saturday in Chatham and learned that a 37-year-old man was stabbed with a knife.

He was transported to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance where he was treated and later released.

The 23-year-old was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He was released with a future court date.

Man injured after allegedly being assaulted with a baseball bat 

Chatham-Kent police have charged a 29-year-old Chatham man after allegedly assaulting another man with a baseball bat at a parking lot in Chatham.

Police said a man the same age was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The 29-year-old was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon.

He was released pending a future court date.

Man caught stealing on surveillance charged with theft 

A 32-year-old man from Chatham has been charged with theft after he was allegedly caught on camera stealing from a car.

Police said the video surveillance showed the man stealing several items from a vehicle in a parking lot in Chatham.

Officers were able to identify and locate the man within an hour after the vehicle was broken into.

The man was charged with theft under $5,000. He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with his release conditions.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with mischief following attempt to steal car parts 

A 51-year-old man from Chatham has been charged with mischief after allegedly attempting to steal a catalytic converter from a vehicle in Chatham.

Police said they were called just after 4 a.m. Sunday about a suspicious man in the area of Sass Road.

According to police, the man took off on foot but got arrested a short distance away.

Police said they learned the man damaged a vehicle after reportedly attempting to steal the catalytic converter.

He was charged with mischief under $5,000 and released with a future court date.

Single-vehicle collision leads to impaired driving charge 

A 29-year-old man from Blenheim is facing an impaired driving charge after a single-vehicle collision on Communication Road.

Police said they responded to the collision just before 2 a.m. Sunday.

Officers believed the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol and arrested the man.

He was taken to police headquarters where he blew over the legal limit.

He was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

He was released with a future court date.
