Chatham man arrested during late night walk

A 33-year-old Chatham man is in more trouble with the law after he was allegedly caught walking alone in the city at around 10 p.m. Tuesday night.

Police said that late night stroll was a problem because the man had previously been released from the court with orders to stay inside his residence between 6pm and 7 a.m. He was only allowed to go out for medical appointments and his surety had to be with him for that, too.

The man was arrested on Raleigh Street and charged with failing to comply with a release order. He was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.
