Police make two arrests for impaired driving 

A 61-year-old man is facing an impaired driving charge after colliding with a yellow concrete pillar in a drive-thru on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

Police said officers spoke to the driver which resulted in him being arrested and taken to police headquarters where he blew twice over the legal limit.

The man was charged with impaired operation and having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

He was released from custody pending a future court date.

A 30-year-old woman from Wallaceburg is facing an impaired driving charge after Chatham-Kent police followed up on a driving complaint in Chatham.

Police responded to the complaint about the vehicle travelling on Prince Albert Road near Grand Avenue Friday morning and pulled the vehicle over.

Police said the driver was arrested and taken to police headquarters for breath tests and blew nearly three times over the legal limit.

The 30-year-old woman was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit. She was released from custody pending a bail hearing.

Pair arrested for breaking and entering, drug possession 

A 38-year-old man and woman from Dresden are facing several charges after they were found in possession of methamphetamine inside a vacant residence.

Police responded to a neighbour's report about lights being on inside the residence Friday morning on Camden Street in Dresden.

When officers attended the residence they discovered that a side door has been kicked in.

Police located both the man and woman inside the residence and placed them under arrest.

During a search officers found the man to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine.

The man was charged with breaking and entering to commit an indictable offence as well as possession of a controlled substance. He was released pending a future court date.

The woman was charged with breaking and entering to commit an indictable offence and later released pending a future court date.
