Police looking for theft suspect after car stolen, then returned

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips after someone broke into a storage facility in Chatham and took off with various items including a 1984 Pontiac Fiero.

Police said they arrived at the storage facility Monday afternoon and learned that the car had been stolen along with a number of other items.

Officers said they found the car in a parking lot in Chatham at around 1 a.m. Tuesday and towed it from the scene, adding that the rightful owner has been notified.

Man arrested for domestic assault

A Chatham man is facing charges after police received several calls about a domestic dispute near a Chatham business.

Police said the calls came in at around 9 a.m. Monday, reporting that a man was seen hitting and pushing his girlfriend.

A 39-year-old Chatham man was later arrested and charged with one count of assault. He was later released pending a future court date.
