Parking lot disturbance call leads to arrest, drug charges

A 30-year-old Tilbury man is facing assault and drug-related charges after a disturbance in a parking lot on Canal Street West in Tilbury.

Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the scene at around 9 p.m. Sunday and learned that the man had allegedly assaulted another man there.

When police were searching the man, they also allegedly found some illegal drugs on him.

The man was charged with two counts of assault and one count of drug possession and later released with a future court date.

Tip to police results in impaired driving charge

A 30-year-old Raleigh Township man has been charged with impaired driving after Chatham-Kent police police followed up on a driving complaint on Richmond Street in Chatham.

Officers said they got the call at around 10:30 p.m. Sunday, adding that the driver was taken to police headquarters after roadside screening.

The accused was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit and was later released with conditions pending a future court date.

Chatham-Kent police are asking for the public's help to find a black 2008 Ford F-150 XLT that was reported stolen from a Bothwell residence over the weekend.

Police said it was taken sometime overnight on Saturday, March 12 and that the vehicle is a crew cab model with a gold/beige strip at the bottom of the doors.

It was last seen with Ontario license plate number LS1696.

Anyone with information on the theft of the vehicle or where it may be now is asked to contact Constable Ashwin Roy at ashwinr@chatham-kent.ca. Anonymous callers may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and may be eligible for a cash reward.

Break-in at storage facility

Chatham-Kent police are asking for your help to solve a break-in at a storage facility on Queens Line in Raleigh Township.

Police said the break-in was reported on March 12, 2022, and the images below were provided to officers to help them with the investigation.
