Man flees on ATV with a gun after domestic disturbance

Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man accused of domestic assault after they were called to a disturbance on Talbot Trail in Harwich Township late Wednesday night.

Police said they received the call at around 11 p.m. Wednesday and learned that a "physical altercation" had taken place between the man and his spouse.

The man allegedly took off on an ATV before police arrived and was also armed with a gun at the time.

Officers were able to track him down a short time later and arrested him.

The man was charged with one count each of assault, operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited, and possession of a dangerous weapon. He was also charged with two counts of mischief and was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested after Chatham break-in

A 26-year-old man of no fixed address has been arrested after someone allegedly broke into Pioneer Gas on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police said they received the call at around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday and were able to identify a suspect from some video surveillance.

Officers found him a short distance away and arrested him. He was charged with breaking and entering and was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

ATV reported stolen from Ridgetown business

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for help as they try to track down a green 2020 Polaris ATV that was reported stolen from a Ridgetown business.

You can find a picture of it below.

Police said the vehicle was taken sometime around 3 a.m. Wednesday and was last seen heading south on Erie Street North in Ridgetown.
