Woman arrested for assault after argument turns violent

A woman has been arrested and charged with assault a month after Chatham-Kent police were called to investigate an altercation that took a violent turn.

Police said their investigation, which started on February 8, showed that one woman had hit another woman while they were arguing.

The alleged assailant was arrested Monday night and charged with assault. She was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Wallaceburg man arrested after complaint at Walmart

A 32-year-old Wallaceburg man has been arrested and charged after he allegedly stole from the Walmart in Wallaceburg.

Police said they were called to the store at around 8 p.m. Monday and were told by a loss prevention officer that someone had stolen $350 worth of product.

Officers were also given a suspect description and matched that up with a man who was outside the store.

He was arrested, charged with theft and possession of stolen property, and later released with a future court date.

Wallaceburg man charged with impaired driving after rollover

A 31-year-old Wallaceburg man is facing an impaired driving charge after a rollover crash north of Chatham.

Police said they were called to the scene in the area of Kent Bridge Road and Baseline Road at around 1 a.m. Tuesday.

No injuries were reported, but the driver was arrested for having a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.

He was later released with conditions and a future court date.
