Pfizer vaccine available to CK residents 30+ again

The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine is once again available to everyone in Chatham-Kent.

Back on December 18th, 2021, the Ontario Ministry of Health recommended that the Pfizer vaccine only be given to people between the ages of 12 and 29 to help preserve the limited supply.

The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit (CKPHU) announced yesterday that the supply is now slightly more stable, so they are now able to give the Pfizer shot to people over the age of 30. However, a press release said the supply does remain limited.

The CKPHU reminds residents that both Moderna and Pfizer vaccines are safe, effective and interchangeable mRNA vaccines that provide a high level of protection against the COVID-19 virus.

Appointments for the CKPHU vaccination clinic at the Bradley Centre in Chatham are still required for anyone 12+ and can be booked online at www.GetYourShotCK.ca, or by calling 519-351-1010.

Walk-in appointments are still being accepted for youth aged 5-11, but they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
