Blenheim barber to represent new men's grooming brand in Canada

A Blenheim barber will soon be one of three Canadians to represent a new men's grooming line, launching next month.

Black Comb Barber and Shave Parlour Owner Gregory Dennis is the newest brand ambassador for a new line of high-performing care products by STMNT [Statement].

Dennis said the other two Canadians selected to represent the brand are based in Calgary and Quebec. He said the opportunity is like a one-in-a-million chance.

"It feels like I won the hair lottery," said Dennis. "I didn't think I had a shot to make the team, but now I am one of three barbers out of a whole nation full of barbers. It's surreal."

Owning a business in Chatham-Kent, Dennis said some people tend to overlook the community, which makes this opportunity a great chance to put the municipality on the map.

"For me to be able to represent Chatham-Kent, I think this will be great for the community as a whole," said Dennis. "There are a lot of great people in this region and we do a lot of great things."

Dennis said he presumes the new role will include content creation, tutorials over social media, and perhaps even trade show performances.

"I'm going to ride the wave as long as I can," said Dennis. "If things work out for me, I will continue to be a part of team STMNT."

Looking ahead, Dennis said he could see himself getting out into the world a little more. He added he would like to focus on the education aspect of the trade, whether it be teaching abroad, performing in trade shows, or even expanding the Black Comb Barbershop.

"Barbering is my way of taking care of the community and the people," said Dennis. "Everyone needs a haircut and everyone needs to feel good about themselves."

The new line of STMNT products makes its debut in Canada next month.
