Call from a concerned citizen gets drunk driver off the road 

A woman is facing impaired driving charges after a concerned citizen spotted her driving erratically in a parking lot of a commercial property on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

Police say the driver drove over curbs and then swerved all over the road as it entered the roadway.

Thanks to a call from the citizen, police were able to stop the vehicle on St. Clair Street in the area of Darrell line.

Officers say the woman driving was found to be impaired. The driver was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she registered twice the legal limit.

The woman was charged and later released with a future court date.

Police arrest suspicious man found rummaging through a vehicle in Chatham 

A Chatham man is facing charges after he was found rummaging through a vehicle on St. Clair Street.

Police say through investigation they learned the man was on conditions not to be in the area or around another person as a result of a previous court release.

He was placed under arrest and charged with failing to comply with a release order. He was held for a bail hearing.

Man arrested following a disturbance with his mother 

Chatham-Kent police have arrested and charged a man following a disturbance with his mother at a residence on Talbot Trail.

Police say the man was on condition to not be at the address where the disturbance took place. He was arrested and charged for two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
