Can you identify the man in this video?

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public as they try to identify a man who was seen throwing a piece of concrete through the front showroom window at Heuvelmans Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac Limited on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.

Police said that happened at around 7:30 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2022 and that the total damage is estimated at $2,000.

Man accused of breaking into two apartments, trying to enter a third

A 38-year-old Chatham man is facing charges after he allegedly broke into two different apartment units in Chatham while the owners were still home.

Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the scene on Grand Avenue East on Tuesday, adding that the man had also allegedly attempted to force his way into a third apartment unit.

Officers were able to identify a suspect and they found him a short distance away.

When police searched him, they allegedly found a small screwdriver and a metal pick in his possession.

He was arrested and charged with three counts of break and enter and one count of possession of break and enter tools.

Driver charged after two vehicle crash

A 24-year-old Wardsville man has been charged with careless driving after a two-vehicle crash on Ridge Line between Harwich Road and Front Line.

Police were called to the scene Tuesday afternoon, adding that no injuries were reported and the damage was estimated at $7,000.

Domestic disturbance call leads to arrest, charges

A 38-year-old Chatham man has been charged with assault and forcible confinement after police were called to investigate a domestic disturbance in Chatham Tuesday night.

Chatham-Kent police said their investigation showed that a verbal argument at the residence had escalated to a physical altercation.

The accused was arrested, charged, and taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Two arrests after theft from vehicle

A 43-year-old Chatham-Kent man and a 31-year-old Chatham-Kent woman are both facing charges after police were called to investigate a theft from a vehicle in a parking lot in Chatham.

Police said they were notified of the incident at around 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Officers were able to identify a pair of suspects and arrested them on Vanier Drive in Chatham shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Both of the accused were charged with theft and possession of stolen property. They were both later released pending a future court date.
