Municipality seeks public input on waste management

Chatham-Kent is seeking the public’s input concerning waste management for the coming years.

Last April, council approved extending the municipality's waste contract for an additional two years from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2023.

Municipal officials said the recommendation was made based on changes to provincial regulations, policies, and a possible organics diversion program.

The public survey will inform the service review committee, whose findings will play a role in the design of the next waste contract request for proposal.

The scope of the survey includes:

• Geographical service areas

• Residential garbage collection

• Institutional, commercial, and industrial garbage collection

• Bulk waste collection

• Composting

• Transfer solutions

• Administration and customer service

Residents can participate in the survey by visiting this link here.
