Three arrests on warrants

Chatham-Kent police can cross three more names off of their wanted list after they made a trio of arrests over the past two days.

Police said a 43-year-old Wallaceburg man who was wanted on an outstanding mischief charge was arrested on Thursday after he showed up at the police station for a personal matter. He was later released with a future court date.

A 38-year-old Leamington man who was wanted by OPP was arrested during a traffic stop on Queens Line in Tilbury on Thursday.

And a 44-year-old Chatham man who was wanted on a surety relief warrant was arrested early Friday morning when he was found in the area of Adelaide Street in Chatham.

He was later taken to the South West Detention Centre.

Grocery store theft suspect arrested

The long arm of the law has also caught up with a 51-year-old Chatham man who was wanted in connection with a theft complaint from Sobeys earlier this year.

Chatham-Kent police said they found the man in the area of St. Clair Street in Chatham early Friday morning and arrested him.

He was charged with theft and possession of stolen property and then released with a future court date.
