Chatham-Kent foodbanks benefit from donation

Chatham Outreach for Hunger and the Salvation Army will share a donation from the Grain Farmers of Ontario.

The cheques totaling $4,000 come from District 2 in Chatham-Kent.

Grain Farmers of Ontario is the province's largest commodity organization and represents 28,000 farmers who grow barley, corn, oat, soybean, and wheat.

"In these unprecedented times, we wish to continue to support our community's access to quality food and nutrition with this donation," said a statement from the organization.

Chatham Outreach for Hunger is a food bank on Wellington Street in Chatham.

The Chatham-Kent Salvation Army has four foodbanks in Chatham, Blenheim, Ridgetown, and Wallaceburg.
