Youths causing trouble at UCC

No charges were laid, but a 15-year-old Chatham youth was removed from Ursuline College Chatham (UCC) property after police were called to the school a couple of times on Tuesday.

Police said they were first called to the school at around 12 p.m. in regards to an unwanted group of youths who refused to cooperate with school officials when they were asked to leave the property.

UCC was placed in a brief hold and secure Tuesday afternoon as a result of the incident.

Officers said by the time police showed up, the youths had already left.

Police were called back to the school again shortly after 2 p.m. as a teen from another high school in Chatham had shown up and refused to cooperate with school officials.

Officers said that teen was found a short distance away and was trespassed from UCC property.

Chatham man charged with domestic-related offences

A 24-year-old Chatham man has been arrested and charged after a verbal argument at a Chatham residence allegedly turned violent.

Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the home Tuesday night, adding that the incident allegedly involved a man ahis his girlfriend.

Police said the accused was arrested, charged, and taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Man accused of threatening nurse on his way out of the hospital

A 39-year-old man of no fixed address is in trouble with the law after he allegedly threatened a nurse while he was being discharged from the Emergency Department at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

Police said that happened Tuesday night.

Officers were called in and arrested the man, who was then charged with uttering threats. He was later released with a future court date.

Driver charged after crash on Charing Cross Road

A 55-year-old man from Cedar Springs has been charged with following too closely after police were called to a two vehicle crash on Charing Cross Road near Talbot Trail Tuesday night.

Police said no injuries were reported and the damage was estimated at $3,000.

Chatham-Kent police are looking for the public's help to identify the man pictured below.

Officers said they are investigating after an unknown man was found inside a vacant home on Thames Street just before 8 a.m. Sunday.

Police said the homeowner and the man argued as the man took off and nothing was stolen from the home.
