A trio of non-profit groups in Chatham-Kent are getting some financial help from the Ontario government.
The money comes from the Community Building Fund and will help the organizations run their tourism, culture, sport, and recreation facilities so they can continue to offer programs and services in their communities.
A total of $250,000 dollars is going to Walpole Island First Nation to help cover operational costs for 12 months at the Walpole Island Sports Complex.
The Wallaceburg and District Museum is getting $50,000 to help purchase equipment so they can offer more outdoor and virtual programs for the community, and $37,100 is headed to the Canadian Cowgirls to help create a virtual and in-person musical ride program paying tribute to frontline and essential workers.
Across Ontario, 648 organizations are receiving more than $46 million through the Community Building Fund.
