Serious crash in Wallaceburg involving pedestrian

Chatham-Kent police are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed a serious crash on Dufferin Avenue and Arnold Street in Wallaceburg over the weekend.

Police said they were called to the scene on Saturday, adding that the collision involved a vehicle and a female pedestrian.

One person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash.

Crime Stoppers looking for tips after suspicious fire on Halloween

Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers are appealing to the public for tips after someone started a fire at a recently condemned home in Chatham.

Police and fire crews were called to the scene on Gray Street early Sunday morning.

If you have any information on who may have set the fire, you are asked to contact 1 800-222-8477 and could earn a cash reward.

Man charged with failing to obey his release conditions

A 71-year-old Chatham man is back in police custody after he allegedly showed up at a woman's home he had been ordered to stay away from.

Police said the man was released from court back in August with several conditions, one of which was that he wasn't supposed to show up at a specific woman's home.

Officers said they were called to that woman's home at around 7 p.m. Monday and learned that the man had been there.

He was later arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions and was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Three arrests on warrants

Chatham-Kent police have rounded up three more people who were all wanted for breaking the law.

Police said a 44-year-old man was arrested on Monday after officers received a report of a suspicious man on Grand Avenue East in Chatham. He was later released with a future court date.

A 38-year-old woman who was wanted for failing to attend court was also arrested on Monday. She was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

And a 28-year-old Wallaceburg man who was wanted for failing to attend court was arrested Monday afternoon. Police said an officer on general patrol took him into custody and he was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.
