CK to honour vaccination clinic volunteers

Volunteers who devoted their time to helping Chatham-Kent residents get vaccinated against COVID-19 are being recognized for their efforts.

On Monday, Councillor Anthony Ceccacci entered a successful motion requesting that council consider a plaque or similar permanent gesture of appreciation to those who volunteered at the Bradley Centre vaccination clinic.

The volunteers filled a variety of roles within the vaccination clinic and they were expected to be knowledgeable of frequently changing policies.

"Some conversation came to light about how much hard work and effort that all of our volunteers put out at the vaccination clinic," said Ceccacci. "I thought it was important to recognize those volunteers."

He said because there are so many names, the gesture could be a widespread monument on behalf of all of the volunteers.

"We want the gesture to be something to let them know that they are appreciated," said Ceccacci.
