Maroons double Rockets 6-3

The Chatham Maroons hammered the Strathroy Rockets 6-3 on Sunday.

Dylan Glinski scored for Chatham 7:10 into the first period, but the Rockets tied the game by scoring less than five minutes later. Warren Clark quickly followed up with a goal to give Chatham a 2-1 lead heading into the second.

Colin Whaley and Cameron Symons both scored in the first five minutes of the second frame to extend the lead for the Maroons. The Rockets scored another goal 6:19 into the period, but Glinski scored his second goal of the night to give Chatham a 5-2 lead.  In the final five minutes of the frame, Strathroy scored their third goal of the game but Ty Durston scored for the Maroons to keep their three-goal advantage

After no scoring in the third, the Maroons ended the game with the win.

Maroons goaltender Brenden Stroble made 23 saves out of 26 shots on net.

The Maroons are back on the ice on Thursday to take on the Legionnaires in Sarnia. The puck drops at 7:10 p.m.
