Chatham woman charged with mischief 

A 29-year-old woman has been arrested and charged after leaving some of her apartment’s residents in the dark.

Chatham-Kent police said the woman, who lives in the apartment in the area of William Street in Chatham, allegedly cut the locks to the electrical panel that controls all the power to the units and turned off the power to everyone’s apartment but her own.

Officers went to the apartment residence and arrested the woman for mischief under $5,000.

She was released with a future court date on November 24.

Man arrested for breaching release conditions, uttering threats 

A 30-year-old Chatham man was arrested in connection to a store clerk being threatened on Saturday.

Police said they responded to a call about a suspicious male who had allegedly threatened a clerk with bodily harm in a store on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.

According to police, the man was on conditions to not attend the store.

The man was placed under arrested for uttering threats and breaching his release conditions. He was transported to police headquarters and held for bail.

Chatham man winds himself up in jail after smashing a store window 

A 30-year-old man paid a quick visit to the hospital before he found himself in a cell at Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters.

Police responded to a business on Grand Avenue East in Chatham after a window was reportedly smashed.

The man was found in the area with a large gash on his leg from the window he broke. He was arrested and brought to hospital then, after being medically cleared, he was taken to police headquarters and held for bail.

Man charged with drug possession 

A 36-year-old Wallaceburg man is facing a drug possession charge after police responded to a call Saturday about a suspicious person believed to be on drugs.

Police said the man, who was already wanted by police on an outstanding warrant, was arrested and taken to police headquarters where he was searched and found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine.

The man was charged with drug possession and released with a future court date on October 28.
