Crash leads to woman charged with impaired driving

A 36-year-old Wallaceburg woman is facing an impaired driving charge after a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning.

Police said officers responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision on Langstaff Line in Wallaceburg around 1 a.m.

Officers on scene located a Honda Civic that reportedly struck a mailbox prior to entering a ditch.

An investigation led an officer to believe the driver was under the influence of alcohol and she was arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

The woman has been charged with having a blood-alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. She was later released with a future court date on November, 24.
