Domestic leads to collision and arrest

A verbal argument that escalated has led to charges against a Dresden woman.

Chatham-Kent police were called to a residence on Wednesday morning for a domestic disturbance. A couple was arguing when a woman allegedly smashed items in the home.

The man left, but police say she followed him and rear-ended his truck with her van, and continued to follow him and hit his truck several times, causing her airbags to deploy.

The 47-year-old woman was placed under arrest, but she allegedly resisted officers. She's charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and resisting arrest. She was released with a future court date.

Man charged with impaired driving

Police responded to a report of a possible impaired driver on Richmond Street in Chatham on Wednesday night.

An officer stopped the vehicle and believed the man driving was under the influence of alcohol and was arrested. He was taken to police headquarters for breath tests.

The 50-year-old Chatham man has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit and driving while under suspension. He was released with a future court date.

Boat motor stolen in Wallaceburg

Sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, a black Mercury 8hp outboard motor was stolen.

Police say it was taken from a 2002 Crown Line bow rider that was parked at a residence on Albert Street.

The total value of the theft is estimated at $4,000.
