Chatham tattoo artist charged in sexual assault

Chatham-Kent police are asking any other possible victims to come forward following an alleged sexual assault at a Chatham tattoo shop.

Police said a Chatham woman reported last month that she attended Loko Ink on Queen Street for a scheduled tattoo appointment. During the appointment, she was allegedly sexually assaulted by the tattoo artist.

Following an investigation, members of the Major Crimes Unit arrested the man on September 6.

Dairon Rivero, 32,  of Chatham has been charged with assault and sexual assault. The charges have not been proven in court.

Rivero has since been released with a future court date in October.

According to police, sexual assault is defined in the Criminal Code of Canada as any form of unwanted sexual contact.

Investigators are now working to ensure that there are no other victims. Anyone with information is being encouraged to contact Constable Rachele Marineau at rachelem@chatham-kent.ca or 519-436-6600 extension 668. Annonoums tips may also be submitted through Crime Stoppers.
