Police searching for vehicle involved in hit and run

Chatham-Kent police are asking the public for help in finding a vehicle that was involved in a fail to remain collision.

Police say an 18-year-old man riding a skateboard was hit on Sunday around 8 p.m. on Glenwood Drive in the area of Jackson Dr. in Chatham.

The skateboarder suffered minor injuries, but the vehicle fled the scene.

The suspect vehicle is described as an older grey 4 door vehicle with black fender flares, black aftermarket rims and a loud exhaust system.

Anyone who may know the suspect vehicle or who may have witnessed what happened is asked to contact Constable Josh ROSE at or 519-436-6600 mailbox #87290, or Crime Stoppers.

Physical argument leads to assault charges 

A 50-year-old Tilbury man is facing charges after a verbal argument involving a woman became physical.

Police say the woman was hit in the side of the head and then punched in the face.

The man was placed under arrest and brought to police headquarters where he was charged with assault and assault with a weapon.

He was released with a future court date on September 21, 2021.

Jewelry stolen from Chatham business 

Chatham-Kent police are investigating a break and enter at a business on Raleigh Street in Chatham.

Police say an unknown suspect used a stone to break a window in order to steal about $150 worth of jewelry from its display case.

Damages are estimated at $400.

Break and enter in Wallaceburg 

Chatham-Kent police are investigating a break and enter at a vacant building on William Street in Wallaceburg.

According to police, unknown suspects caused about $30 in damage to the building.

Complaint leads to the arrest of wanted man 

A 51-year-old man who was wanted by Chatham-Kent police has been arrested.

Police say they were called to the area of Queen Street in Chatham on Saturday about a suspicious man.

The man who had a warrant out for his arrest was brought to police headquarters where he was later released pending a future court date of September 29.
