Chatham-Kent police are asking for the public's help to identify the woman pictured below as they investigate a theft from the LCBO on Wellington Street in Chatham.

Police said it took place Wednesday afternoon.

Man accused of breaking curfew, release conditions by visiting woman

A 41-year-old Chatham man is facing charges after he allegedly made a late-night stop at a woman's house that he wasn't supposed to visit.

Police said they arrested the man after they responded to a disturbance in Chatham and learned that the man had attended the woman's residence outside of his daily curfew of 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. and that he was bound by conditions not to attend the address.

The accused was charged with two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions and he was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Man released on conditional sentence found with knives

A 26-year-old man is back in police custody after he was allegedly found carrying a couple of knives around even though he was under a weapons ban.

Chatham-Kent police said he was issued a Conditional Sentence Order back in June with several conditions, one of which was that he wasn't supposed to have any weapons.

Police said the man approached an officer in the area of McNaughton Avenue near Sandys Street in Chatham Wednesday night and told the officer he had some knives in his possession. Officers said a search showed that the man had two knives on him.

The accused was charged with failing to comply and was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Tools stolen in Blenheim

Chatham-Kent police are looking for tips from the public after someone broke into a home under construction in Blenheim and took off with some power tools and some light fixtures.

Police said it happened sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, adding that the damage caused by the break-in was estimated at $2,000.

Another home under construction targeted by thieves

Chatham-Kent police are looking into a second break-in at a home under construction -- this time in Harwich Township.

Police said someone entered the home sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning and stole an air exchange unit worth approximately $2,000.

Electronics targeted during Chatham break-in

Chatham-Kent police are investigating after someone broke into a building near the Walter Hawkins Municipal Pool in Chatham sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning.

Police said whoever broke in, caused about $200 in damage and took off with an iPad and various electronics.

Pickup truck reported stolen in Harwich Township

Police are appealing to the public for tips after someone stole a blue 1989 Chevy 1500 pickup truck from a shed on Fairview Line.

Officers said the truck and various tools were stolen sometime between August 15, 2021 and August 18, 2021.

Lawnmower stolen from Chatham business

Chatham-Kent police are asking for tips after a red Honda 4514 hydrostatic lawnmower was reported stolen from Michener Auto Body on Grand Avenue East in Chatham.

Police said it was taken sometime between 7 a.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday, adding that the mower is worth approximately $2,000.
