Services altered for Civic Holiday in CK

Garbage and recycling collection will be pushed back by one day in Chatham-Kent to accommodate the Civic Holiday long weekend.

The Chatham Leaf & Yard Depot, Harwich Transfer Station, and Wallaceburg Transfer Station will be closed on Monday. All other transfer stations will be open during regular hours.

Chatham-Kent municipal offices will be closed on August 2. The Beach Bus to Mitchell’s Bay and Erieau will be running on Monday at regular fares. However, no other public transit services will be operating.

The Chatham Capitol Theatre, Kiwanis Theatre, Chatham Cultural Centre, Chatham-Kent Museum, Thames Art Gallery, ARTspace, Milner Heritage House and Ridge House Museum will be closed on Monday as well as all libraries in the municipality.

The Blenheim Gable Rees Rotary Pool, Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool and the seven outdoor pools located in Chatham, Dresden, Ridgetown, Thamesville and Tilbury will be open with their regular schedule on Monday.

Several services at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance will also be altered for the Civic Holiday.

Routine x-rays, electrocardiograms, and ultrasounds will not be available on Monday at the hospitals in Chatham and Wallaceburg. However, the departments will be staffed for emergencies.

Elston Pharmacy, located at the Chatham Site, will be closed on August 2.

The business and cashier’s offices will be closed on Monday as well, however, there are two bill changers in the building to change for coins.

As always, emergency departments at both hospitals in Chatham-Kent will remain open 24 hours daily.

The Homeless Response Line for homeless emergencies will continue to operate 24 hours a day and can be reached at 519-354-6628. The Chatham-Kent Mental Health and Addictions Program crisis line can also be reached on Monday at 1-866-299-7447.
