Weapons charges laid

A man is facing weapons charges after he allegedly approached a group of youths and brandished a knife at Tecumseh Park.

Police were called to the park in Chatham where a man was arrested for assault with a weapon and possessing a prohibited weapon.

He was later released from police custody with a future court date scheduled for August 27.

Man arrested during RIDE check

A suspended driver is in more trouble with the law after being stopped by police during a RIDE check.

Officers said the driver also had several outstanding warrants for his arrested and allegedly breached a previous release. He was held in police custody for a bail hearing.

The vehicle he was driving was impounded for 45 days.

Stolen camper trailer returned to Chatham family

A camper trailer that was reported stolen has been returned to its rightful owners.

A Chatham family reported the missing trailer and several pictures were posted to social media. Police said a citizen spotted the trailer and called police. It was then recovered in the Wallaceburg area.

"The family was extremely happy and able to enjoy the long weekend together," said CK police in a media release.
