Dresden library temporarily closing for renovations

Library members will soon notice some new improvements to the Dresden branch of the Chatham-Kent Public Library.

The branch will be temporarily closing for three weeks from August 12 to September 6 for renovations. The old pinkish tile floor is getting replaced, along with a new adjustable-height circulation desk and new windows in the basement program room.

The library is offering extended hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on August 10 and August 11, so members can stock up on library material before the closure.

Member due dates will be adjusted so that no materials will be due during the closure. Any library items can continue to be returned in the Dresden branch drop box.

Temporary home service will also be available for members who aren’t able to travel out of town.

According to library staff,  members can also access their accounts, search for items, manage holds, and download from CKPL’s virtual library during the closure.
