The Ministry of Labour is investigating a fatal workplace accident in Chatham.
According to Chatham-Kent Police, officers responded to an industrial accident at Mylen Custom Kitchens on Centre Street in Chatham at around 4 p.m. Monday.
Police initially reported that a 44-year-old Chatham man, who worked for Curran Expert Removal and Excavating, fell from a ladder and sustained life-threatening injuries. The Ministry of Labour Training and Skill Development later reported that the worker fell from an elevated platform.
The man was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance where he was pronounced deceased.
The Ministry of Labour was contacted and has taken over the investigation.
