Alcohol-fueled incident leads to charges

A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged with assault and mischief after an allegedly alcohol-fueled disturbance in Chatham.

Police said a man who had been drinking is accused of assaulting a resident at Dove Place in Chatham and also causing some damage to the residence.

He was arrested, charged, and held for a bail hearing.

Break and enter under investigation

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips after someone entered an unlocked vehicle and a garage on Grand River Line and stole "various items."

Woman arrested for using stolen credit card

A woman has been arrested and charged after several credit cards were reportedly stolen and used at different locations.

Officers said they arrested the woman on Wedgewood Avenue in Chatham.

She was charged with theft, possession of stolen property, use of a stolen credit card, and fraud.

The accused was later released with a future court date.

Motorcyclist charged with impaired driving

A motorcyclist who was allegedly spotted driving around without any license plates in Chatham is facing a number of charges now.

Chatham-Kent police said the motorcycle was stopped on Duke Street in Chatham and the driver was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol.

The accused was arrested and charged with impaired driving along driving without proper license plates, insurance, or a valid license.

He was later released with a future court date.
