Chatham COVID-19 assesment centre set to relocate

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s COVID-19 Assessment Centre is moving locations.

As of July 1, residents who want to get tested for the virus will have to go to 10 Grand Avenue West in Chatham.

For the past eight months, the assessment centre has been operating out of the St. Clair College HealthPlex in Chatham.

For anyone with appointments booked on June 30, testing will continue to take place at the St. Clair College HealthPlex with no disruption to service.

"Since October 2020, the COVID-19 Assessment Centre operated out of the facilities at the St. Clair College HealthPlex. Due to a decreased demand in testing and the need for the HealthPlex to return to its original purpose as a gymnasium operated by St. Clair College, the COVID-19 Assessment Centre will move to 10 Grand Avenue West," hospital officials said through a media release. "Space in this location has been re-designed to ensure a safe and efficient experience for individuals who are attending for COVID-19 testing."

The assessment centre will continue to operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week.

People who require a COVID-19 test are asked to use the online booking tool by clicking here. Appointments can also be made by calling 519-436-2556.
