UPDATE: Damage pegged at $1.2M after drive shed fire near Dresden

The damage is estimated at $1.2 million after a fire broke out at a drive shed on Union Line near Dresden Tuesday evening.

Fire officials said crews from Station 5 – Tupperville, Station 6 – Dresden, Station 7 – Chatham South were all called to the scene at 10804 Union Line at around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, adding that firefighters were able to contain the fire to the 60 foot by 20 foot drive shed.

Investigators said the efforts from the crews on scene prevented further damage to multiple other structures and vehicles in the area including a house, a second barn, a camping trailer, and a semi-truck.

Chatham-Kent police and Chatham-Kent EMS were also on scene, but no injuries were reported.

The cause is going down as undetermined.
